Our approach
Technology

Of all the software solutions available for small businesses to manage their finances, we usually recommend the following;
Accounting software – Xero
Expense management –Dext
Virtual credit cards – Soldo
Virtual banking and international transfers – Wise

We often start our journey with a new client by overseeing a Xero implementation. But there are a host of other solutions available too and we monitor the technology market, doing our own independent research. We track the features and pricing of the leading software solution providers. We also regularly review their roadmaps. We have extensive experience in implementations and integrations but we do not partner with any software providers, preferring to maintain our independence.

Compliance

Implementing and maintaining compliance with different regulatory and industrial standards is always about culture and internal communication. An asset register is no use if it is half empty. An incident reports is useless if nobody maintains it. There is non point in creating an access log if it is not updated regularly.

Creating the right culture for meeting the highest compliance standards can take time and requires patient communication, often on a one-to-one basis. It is always better when staff and managers buy into the benefits, rather than having a new set of burdens imposed on them without supporting communication.

It often takes time to move people from a more relaxed environment to a compliant one and different people move at different speeds and respond to different incentives.

HR Management

Good HR management comes from clear communication, clear, simple policies and energy investment from management. Even the smallest companies can allow themselves to fall behind in their support for staff as they grow beyond the founders.

Getting a company handbook, an expenses policy and a procurement policy in place before expanding can make all the difference. But taking something off the shelf, putting it in a shared folder and never looking at it again is never enough.

Policies are agreements between people on how they are going to interact collectively. A company’s policies should represent the company’s culture and should be written in a way that includes language everyone can refer back to. Fostering a shared vision is the core of good HR management.
